When reviewing and looking over surah Al-Anfaal, we could not find an incidence of this word. The stopping on this word with an alif is for the whole Qur'an, wherever this word occurs. That is what the "zero" over the alif indicates. The word: is read without the alif when continuing in the reading of Hafs 'an 'Aasim in all places in the Qur'an, but when stopping on this word, all of the different qira'aat stop with an alif. Since we did not see the program, we can only answer according to what we assume. Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Now what I heard was there are instances when reciting the quran that this rule does not apply and failure to elongate the term ana to anaa either when it occurs on its own or as part of a longer word leads to kufr.Ĭould you please shed some more light on this? The rule is despite there being an aliph/hamza near the letter nun it is not to be elongated whilst reciting. As you are aware there are several occasions in the Qur'an where the word ana appears. I recently saw on an Islamic channel that there are 4 cirucumstances in surah anfal in particular i believe were the term ana as part of a word or its own has to be elongated otherwise the resulting recitation amounts to kufr.
